Matt has worked in recruiting for the last decade. Starting in the agency world, working with top companies in the Mid Atlantic region. Matt joined RockIT Recruiting at the end of 2012, and moved to San Francisco, where he grew to leading teams focused on advanced technology hiring, such as: Big Data, Security, Robotics, Hardware, IoT, Autonomous Vehicles, etc. Matt was the head of contingency recruiting in 2017, leading all of RockIT's focus in that arena. Since then, Matt has worked on Advanced Design and Camera hiring at Snap, and been the head of recruiting for 2 startups, Reliable Robotics and Incredible Health. Matt is now a director, leading a team hiring experienced talent for Human Capital, a Venture Firm and Talent Agency for the top engineers in the world.

Adam is the co-founder and partner at Growth by Design Talent. He connects people with opportunities, improving their personal and career prospects, with a keen awareness that there are right roles for the right people at the right time in companies. Adam has over 20 years of experience at high growth companies including Pinterest and Facebook where he served as the Global Head of Recruiting and Director of Recruiting, respectively, leading the companies through their IPO and major growth phases. Serving as a Founder and Partner at GBD Talent, Adam specializes in guiding Talent leaders as they navigate change as well as advising clients on how to effectively scale their business and sharpen their recruiting processes.

Matt Grimes is the Talent Acquisition Lead at U.Group, a digital transformation and technology partner focused on human-centered design. He leads efforts to cultivate positive candidate experiences and attract top talent to the team. Matt also serves as a talent advisor for RiverNorth where he seeks out candidates who have never felt “whole” at a larger, traditional company and is an independent recruiter assisting a range of companies around DC effectively hire top talent. Previously, Matt was Head of Talent Acquisition at WhyHotel, a DC-based hospitality startup. Matt is an avid woodworker, will frequently be found in flip-flops, and spends most of his free time with his wife and two doodles. He is passionate about connecting with people and building exceptional teams.

Andrew Heywood is Talent Acquisition veteran who is based in Silicon Valley. He started his career in Japan where he lived for 5 years working for one of the top recruitment agencies in Tokyo. He has had the pleasure of building teams both in the international (EMEA, LATAM, APAC) and U.S. domestic market. He has worked extensively with Founders, C-Level Executives, VP’s, Directors, and Hiring Managers to attract top talent and develop successful teams. In his spare time, he spends time with his family and dog, likes the outdoors and stay active whether that is hiking, running or swimming.

Shannon is currently the Head of Talent Acquisition at Roofstock a fintech start-up in the real estate space. She was previously a podcast co-host at Bitesize Career Advice that focused on helping individuals through challenging job search and work life situations. She has over 20 years of experience in Human Resources with a specialization in Talent Acquisition. She holds a Master’s in Human Resources and Organizational Development where her research focused on the impact of market conditions on an employees perceptions of direct manager and organizations leadership. Threaded throughout her career has been a focus on helping people achieve their career objectives and working through challenging situations.
